Have you ever craved pizza but the pizza shops nearby didn't offer vegan pizzas? And you were not in the mood for making it all from scratch? This was literally the story of my life for so long. Everyone in the household would want pizza, but many shops didn't offer vegan cheese or fun premium toppings for vegans. Though it is getting MUCH better nowadays in terms of stores offering more vegan friendly options. However, if you happen to live in a place where veganism isn't as widespread, try this little trick!
Here's how I always ensure that my pizza nights are not ruined because the shop nearby doesn't have vegan ingredients. First, I always make sure that I have vegan cheese and plant-based meat alternatives at home in advance, just for the days that the family feels like ordering pizza. Order a pizza without cheese and with your favorite veggies from your favorite pizza shop. When the pizza arrives, add your choice of plant-based meat alternatives. My husband and I love a variety of vegan spicy Italian sausages and we usually slice them up and add them on top of the pizza. Then use the vegan cheese of your choice to sprinkle on top of the pizza. Place the pizza in the oven, and leave it there until the cheese melts on top. It's actually kinda awesome how simple it is to vegan-ize your pizza night!
