A Journey to Youthful Skin

I’ve been getting a lot of messages from people regarding how to keep your skin looking youthful and firm. I’ve decided to make a blog post about this, because it is something I have become really passionate about myself. In this blog post, I will also include some links to some of the products that I have been using and loving!

According to Scientific American, after the age of 20, a person produces about 1 percent less collagen in the skin every year. For those wondering what collagen is, and what its good for- here is a little overview for you. Simply stated, collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in our body, which provides skin firmness. According to HealthLine, collagen is one of the major building blocks of bones, muscles, skin, ligaments and tendons. We can view it as the ‘glue’ that hold everything firm and together.

As the body begins to produce less collagen every year, the skin begins to lose elasticity, becomes thinner and more fragile, and as a result, wrinkles begin to appear on our face. Wrinkles may appear to people during different times in their lives. This depends on one’s diet, skin care routine, sun exposure, hydration and genes. One thing though that is unavoidable, that we all collectively get these fine lines. While we cannot avoid the appearance of wrinkles, we can definitely take useful steps to mitigate them and lessen their appearance.

How Do We Keep Our Skin Youthful and Healthy?

1. Keep Hydrated

Drinking a sufficient amount of water (approx. 8 cups of water) everyday can greatly benefit your skin from premature aging. Below are some benefits of staying hydrated:

  • Reduces Wrinkles: Keeps your body hydrated and helps maintain skin’s elasticity.
  • Flushes Toxins: Helps to clear blemishes and inflammation.
  • Prevents Pimples: The more hydrated your skin is, the less your pores will clog.
  • Elasticity: Helps the skin to look more firm and plump.

Using Hyaluronic Acid has proven to have many benefits. From a personal experience, I don’t mind sharing, that lately I’ve been experiencing some fine lines in my forehead. This can lead to a healthier glow in the skin and may help with reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It's packed with vitamins A, B, C, and K and is low in sugar, which is great for skin health.


5. Jade Roller

Using a Jade roller on a regular basis can make a great difference in the skin. It helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and makes the face smooth by improving blood circulation and decreasing puffiness.
